Inside the 2026 Symbiotic Security Retreat in Lisbon
Following our very first company retreat in the stunning Azores, this second edition brought us to mainland Portugal for another unforgettable chapter.
For most of the year, our team operates as a high-performing, distributed force across the globe. But once a year, we step away from our screens, pack our bags, and bring the entire company together under one roof. While our team members regularly gather for local events in their respective offices throughout the year, this retreat is the one special occasion where everyone from every region connects in person. And it isn’t about sitting in conference rooms or hashing out work roadmaps, it’s purely about connection.
Bringing the World to One City
With "Symbionautes" flying in from the US, Irland, France, Spain, and beyond, this week was dedicated to crossing time zones and department lines. Whether in Engineering, Product, Go-To-Market, or Admin, these days gave everyone the chance to meet face-to-face, build genuine relationships, and celebrate the incredible milestones we achieved over the past year.
Our schedule was packed with team-building activities, thrills, and moments to unwind together:
High-Speed Thrills: Go-kart racing where our competitive spirit definitely came out.
Brainpower & Teamwork: A challenging escape game that put our problem-solving skills to the test outside of code and strategy.
Culinary Creativity: Hands-on cooking lessons mastering local Portuguese flavors.
Axe Throwing: A surprisingly fun way to blow off steam and try something completely new.
Team Spirit: Gathering together to cheer on France during their match victory!
